Nature-Based Enterprise Mentoring Programme

Published on November 3, 2022

Applications to participate in the Mentoring Programme are now closed.  We will be in touch with all the successful applicants in the New Year.

Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are increasingly important for cities and citizens in urban areas to deal with environmental challenges, to improve quality of life, mental health and the local economy. NBS remains a great idea in theory, but can be challenging to put into action. Enterprises are an important agent for change but may need help to develop new business models, to communicate ambitions or their message, to collaborate with stakeholders or to develop designs which have social, environmental and economic benefits.

The European Commission H2020 financed Connecting Nature project, is inviting up to 12 registered members of the Connecting Nature Enterprise Platform from any of its communities to participate in a mentoring programme to enhance the capacity to develop and roll out NBS projects. During the six sessions, you will learn new methodologies, tools and hear about inspiring case studies. We will cover topics like qualitative and quantitative analysis, impact measurement, stakeholder engagement, NBS design through storytelling, strategic communication and conflict management. The programme is hosted by OSMOS and the Connecting Nature Enterprise Platform.

It was a great experience; I would do it again! It was a very rich course; I think I grasped almost everything since the content was explained very clearly and logically! I am also glad that everything is recorded, so I can revisit the material, which is going to be very useful! - Vanessa, Sao Paulo

I often participate in capacity-building courses and workshops because of my job and I have found this is the best course I have attended since I left the university. - Valentina, Salvador

About the mentoring programme

Delivered by Osmos, over the course of six sessions, we will follow a simple but highly effective process based on the double diamond’ method. Each workshop will explore a step and present methods, tools and case studies to illustrate it. This process will help participants define how to use the capacity of design to address complexity, involve participation while also arriving at concrete results for NBS projects.
