Nature-based Solutions (NBS) Comics empowers comic creators to combine science and storytelling, re-imagining how people and nature might thrive together.
The Nature of Cities and NetworkNature announce: NBS COMICS: NATURE TO SAVE THE WORLD
NBS Comics is an interdisciplinary project that works together with artists, scientists, educators, and NBS experts to commission and empower comic creators to tell their stories of nature and people. It is funded by NetworkNature and the European Commission, and is a project of TNOC.
For the purposes of this project, the NBS characterized in the comic might be realism, or fantasy, or sci-fi: an otter talks to a little girl about why the river floods; a woodland community takes care of a forest that takes care of them; a community comes together to build a park; a nonna and granddaughter walk through flooded Venice discussing storm surge; two young women at a bus stop hatch a plan to make a green street; a entrepreneurial fox undoes the mistakes of urban planners; a fire crew argues over a lost family home.
We have commissioned seven comics, with more on the way at the end of 2023. |
